2018 Dodge Charger Concept, Fresh New Look

Unlike its main competitors, chiefly the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang, the 2018 Dodge Charger is still a long way from entering production. That being said, Dodge are no doubt acutely aware that it is not wise to rush any concept car into the manufacturing stage just to keep up with competition. In many ways muscle coupe enthusiasts should take a lot of positives from the fact that Dodge are in no hurry to clear the 2018 Dodge Charger for production; after all nobody wants a flop.

2018 Dodge Charger – Fresh New Look Promised:

The 2018 Dodge Charger sports a classic muscle car exterior aesthetic with somewhat of a modern twist. Unlike the bloated fat muscle cars of the 1960s/70s, this modern muscle coupe is a lot trimmer, with a streamlined body, toned shape and aggressive lines. Furthermore its diametrically large alloys, stylish hood grilles and bumper all add to the cars masculine and sporty vibe that makes it that much more appealing to its target consumer; young to middle-aged men. Also the inclusion of LED headlights that sit seamlessly into its reshaped hood, give this vehicle a unique style that blends the iconic look of the classic muscle car with a more modern aesthetic.

In terms of its interior, the Dodge Charger features a fashionable and clean-looking cabin that is built as much for its looks and practicality as for its comfort and safety. The seats, fixtures and fittings are all made out of quality materials, mostly a modern combination of quality fabric and leather upholstery with metallic accents. The driver has access to a large touchscreen located on the dashboard that comes complete with a voice controlled operating system and connection to a rear view camera. It is also worth noting that despite being a muscle coupe, the Dodge Charger’s cabin is both spacious and impressively quiet.

2018 Dodge Charger – Engine and Transmission:

While not officially confirmed by Dodge, it is rumoured that the new Dodge Charger will be fitted with a ‘hellcat’ 6.4L supercharged V-8 engine capable of producing an awesome 485 hp. If this is true, this would mean that this muscle coupe would be able to go from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, and would be capable of reaching a top speed of 204 mph. It is worth noting however that other engine variants are also speculated to be equipped under the hood of this vehicle, including a 3.6 L V6 engine and a selection of Hemi V8 units. Nevertheless, regardless of engine type, it is widely believed that this car’s engine would be linked to an automatic eight speed transmission.

It is also worth highlighting that, as of writing, there is no official data as to this vehicle’s mpg ratio. That being said, a quick look back at the 2016 Dodge Charger’s mpg ratio would indicate that the 2018 Dodge Charger’s mpg ratio would be somewhere in the region of 16 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
