2016 Dodge Viper ACR Review

Meet the new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR which is ready to get into fight and dust out its rivals such as the GT-R Nismo, Chevy-corvette Z06 and the Porsche 911 GT. Concept of the ACR was showcased first time in 2014 SEMA show. It is the fastest track Viper built by Dodge and it has both the capabilities of street and track. The new Viper ACR is hand built and its production started Detroit in third-quarter of 2015. The hand built super car is a motivated piece of automobile engineering and it ensures ultimate performance and handling capabilities both on the track and street. The car is more stable at corners with all new suspension, tires and aerodynamics and can easily take high speed turns.

2016 Dodge Viper ACR – Exterior and Interior Design

Light weight material has been used in the car for weight reduction; even the sound system has been reduced to three audio speakers. Body weight on 2016 Dodge Viper ACR has been distributed by 50/50 at front and back. The side exhaust of the car provides an aggressive sound and furious look. The body of car gives an awesome look and it comes with a wide range of color shades and a beautifully designed aero-kit, huge rear spoiler. The body vinyl looks pretty good. Interior of car is beautifully designed and is available with wide range of leather stitching. Staring wheels is equipped with different features like Bluetooth calling and stereo control.

2016 Dodge Viper ACR – Engine and Performance

The new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR has the same naturally aspirated 8.4L V10 engine; even it is not further altered. The V10 produces nearly 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft torque and this takes the car to a top speed of 177 mph although the figures of 0-60 mph have not been yet confirmed. It is the most torque derived from any naturally aspirated engine. Gears are shifted by a 6-speed manual transmission (Tremec TR6060) to the real axle. The new Aero package of ARC delivers 1 ton of down force through adjustable rear carbon fiber rear wings and rear carbon fiber diffuser. The hood of 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is created from single hand-laid carbon fiber. The rear wing is 73.8 inch adjustable. Performance-designed air extractors’ keeps engine of car cool, while a center air intake maximizes flow of air to achieve 645 HP. The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is equipped with Brembo 6 piston brake calipers at the front and Matrix 15 inches two piece rotors. ACR has the largest brake pad area ever on a viper. Suspension is adjustable with 10 different settings; Bilstein Racing shocks coil-overs. 3 inches of suspension height adjustment is delivered by the alignment. V720 high performance racing tires have been fitted which are specially designed for Viper ACR.

2016 Dodge Viper ACR – Price and Release Date

According to Chrysler press release, pricing will start at $117,895 and the car is now available to order. The release date has not been announced yet but according to some unconfirmed news the car will be released before the mid of 2016. The car has gained a great popularity in the audience.
